This mural was commissioned by media company Aidèl in memory and celebration of the brasilian activist Marielle Franco who was murdered on 18th March 2018 in Rio de Janeiro.
The idea was to identify Marielle as a shining soul able to guide us out of the darkness towards the light. This is represented either by his smile and the moth heading for the moon.
